Just a little picture I whipped up for :iconpsychopomp16: 's contest ..

Had to draw their wolf character Io with another character, but.. they had to be another species of animal.. So Io has kind of a cobra Quetzalcoatl vibe going on and just wants to chill out and listen to some tunes.. but .. unfortunatly snakes don't have any handy little digits to press the itty bitty buttons on her tunes player.. so she's requested the help of the very reluctant Anvikit, who's traded her fox skins for that of a rabbit here.. Lets just hope music can soothe the savage beast..

Prismacolor pencils over prismacolor markers, black micron pen and a white gel pen.

I tried some new tecniques, Although a lot of the detail was lost in scanning I am really happy with how the Scales came out, :D First time doing scales! and they look beautiful!

WOW!!! Now this is beyond awsome! I'm really impressed by the creativity here! You followed the rules perfectly, for one, and I love how you transformed these guys, the markings, the piercings and the first person to add headphones, yay! and I adore how you transfered the markings, so awsome. not to mention a little story and humor behind it! Awasome work!

Wow! Awesome job with the scales- and you have such a cool style here! ^^ It's also really cool that you choose to use a snake form for Io- I don't see too many scales around here. =)

Really? I have the hardest time with shading them, and making them the correct size and even.. As a result, I'm still unable to draw either of my pet snakes. =.=;

well I've found that if you make a sideways cross hatch pattern it layers out the scales pretty evenly(making diamond shapes ).. Or just start with a layer and keep on building down the line. as for the coloring.. First I colored it all a solid medium color (with marker) then I penciled in the scales with a darker colored pencil, then just highlighted all the round tips with a light color and hit the joining parts with the darker color, and voila!

I kinda stole a bit of my technique from watching Miami ink.. I forget his name but one of the tattoo artists there punched out a killer snake tattoo!!
